Stockport businessman Tony Hughes
is helping to spearhead a campaign
to promote the contribution small
companies can make in the
economic recovery.

At the inaugral meeting of the
Forum of Private Businesses in the
Houses of Parliament, the managing
director of Hughes Safety Showers,
a world leader in emergency safety
showers, outlined his approach to
business to a group of MPs and
business owners.

Hughes offered advice on
surviving difficult trading conditions
and how to make the most of new
opportunities when the economy
recovers. He emphasised the
important role played by small
companies in Britain and suggested
ways in which many could learn
from his experience.

He also emphasised the moral
responsibility of successful
businesses to pass on the benefit of
their experience to help other SMEs.
