A new type of safety eyewear has
been unveiled by safety equipment
specialist uvex. The super fit
variomatic, an addition to uvex’s
super fit range of safety eyewear,
entirely eliminates the need to swap
or remove safety spectacles when
moving between changing light
conditions.

The lightweight ultra-thin lens of
the super fit variomatic darkens
within seconds of exposure
to UV light, while quickly
reverting to its former
state as UV light is
reduced. This allows the
wearer to move safely
from indoors to outdoors
and back again wearing the
same pair of specs, making the
super fit variomatic ideally suited for
use in diverse industries such as
construction, utilities and
agriculture. Those working in oil and
gas and forklift truck drivers and
architects will also find the specs very
handy, since their eyes will be
continuously protected from harm
without them having to think about
it.
