This year Gore is celebrating its 20th year
of supplying GORE-TEX workplace
footwear within Europe. In 2009 Gore
licensed footwear manufacturers sold more
than 2.5 million pairs of GORE-TEX workplace
and safety boots in Europe. Currently there
are over 450 different GORE-TEX footwear
styles available to end users who demand and
rely on high performance, durable, breathable
and waterproof workplace footwear.
Every year over 7,000 GORE-TEX boots are tested at various
stages of the development and manufacturing process to ensure
the products are fit for purpose and of the highest quality
standards available. As a shoe can only function as well as its
weakest component, in five Gore laboratories around the globe,
besides testing the boots as a whole, some 30 Gore specialists test
the individual components – approximately 5,000
footwear components a year – from the leather
to the sewing thread. Over the past 20 years
Gore has documented the results of the tests
conducted on approximately 60,000 footwear
components and some 70,000 shoes.
GORE-TEX footwear is said to be of the highest durable
quality and will provide comfort as well as protection. Every
Gore licensed footwear manufacturing partner is committed to
producing end products which are reliable and offer value for
money as they won’t need to be replaced frequently.
To celebrate 20 years of success – Gore has teamed
up with its licensed manufacturing brand partner
Rock Fall to offer HSM readers the chance to win 20
pairs of Rock Fall RF004B Diamond Brown Safety
Boots. These GORE-TEX boots are hard wearing yet
supple with leather upper, steel toe cap and midsole, SBP
specification and have Cambrelle and Thinsulate lining. Rock Fall
has been designing, manufacturing and supplying safety footwear
for over 27 years and has been a Gore brand partner for ten years.
Rock Fall is able to specifically design and develop brands for
larger customers who wish to have the GORE-TEX technology
combined with the quality associated with Rock Fall brands.
