Steam off chewing gum

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Steam-e has launched a steam cleaning machine that removes chewing gum and is powered by a single battery.

The machine uses new technology that has been invented, designed and manufactured in the UK by Steam-e. Orders for over 1,700 machines have already been confirmed across a number of national and international customers.

The Steam-e machine safely destroys chewing gum in 3 to 6 seconds per piece by vaporizing an additive, based on sugar beet which is made from 100% renewable sources. This takes the cost of destroying a piece of gum from around 10p per piece (Source: Keep Britain Tidy) to less than 1p.

Based in Hampshire, Steam-e is actively seeking distributors worldwide.
