Slip resistant footwear

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

U-Power offers a range of safety footwear designed to prevent slips and trips, the most common hazards in the workplace.

Slips and trips are responsible for more than a third of all major injuries in the workplace. Over 10,000 workers suffered serious injury because of a slip or trip last year and 95% of major slips result in broken bones. Slips can also cause other types of accident, such as falls from height.

According to U-Power, its U-Spider shoe offers slip resistance in the most demanding of circumstances. The lightweight footwear features a new nitrile outer sole with independent tread blocks that is designed to be anti-slip, heat-resistant to 300°C, anti-static and hard wearing.

The U-Spider also has a pierce-resistant mid-sole, an anatomic, breathable footbed and an AirToe aluminium perforated safety toe cap with a breathable membrane.

U-Power’s Concept SK Grip range of safety boots and shoes is also slip-resistant, as well as being stylish and comfortable for extended periods of wear. The range features U-Power’s Technopolymer last generation U-GRIP, a patented anti-slip outer sole technology.

All safety footwear products from design-led Italian company U-Power have been complying with the new, more stringent, European Standard for safety footwear that came into force on 30 June for more than a year.
