When soft drinks manufacturer, GSK
found rough terrain at its
manufacturing plant had the potential
to cause injuries to personnel, the
company turned to Davis Derby to
help improve the situation.

After analysing traffic movements and
the client’s shock incident record, Davis
Derby supplied and fitted its Fleet
Management Information System
(FMIS), including the shock indication
module, to seven of the trucks and a
diesel pump. Drivers were issued with
SMART cards, which allow access to
and record logged-on and operational
time on the vehicles.

In addition to improved health and
safety significant reductions in shock
levels are also being recorded, as
potholes and other hazards are being
identified through daily shock reports.
