Established in 1966, the 3M Aycliffe
factory is said to be a model of safety
excellence in manufacturing.

Products manufactured at the site
include respirators, powered and
supplied air products and systems for
protection in highly hazardous
environments, as well as filtration
products and automotive abrasive
and polishing compounds.

Also situated at the factory is the
3M Occupational Health and
Environmental Safety (OHES)
European Laboratory, which is
responsible for the design and
development of some of 3M’s most
innovative respiratory protection
products, including the 9300 series
foldable respirators, the 4000 series
reusable gas and vapour respirators
and the Jupiter Turbo unit.
