Safety & Health Expo 2012: Celebrating innovation

Visitors to this year’s Safety and Health Expo (15-17 May, NEC), had the opportunity to see the latest innovations in the market place, to compare products and get expert advice from the leading manufacturers and suppliers. Many also benefitted from the varied educational opportunities on offer over the three days of the exhibition.

One of the key aspects of this show is the emphasis on innovation and the developments in product design and manufacturing. Breakthroughs in material technology are enabling designers and manufacturers to produce products that have superior protective properties but are lighter, more flexible and more comfortable for the wearer.

Winners of the annual BSIF Safety Awards are revealed at the Expo each year, recognising pioneering innovation in the development of products and celebrating achievements and schemes that have ultimately been designed to reduce accidents and injuries in the workplace. This year the Product Innovation Award category received so many outstanding entries that competition was fierce and it made choosing an overall winner a very difficult process.

The BSIF Safety Awards continue to underline the Federation’s dedication to the highest standards within the supply of occupational health and safety products and services.
