Safety Groups come together

The AGM was preceded by a free Health & Safety Update Seminar which included a presentation entitled ‘A Guide to Hearing Conservation ’from sponsor 3M, and updates on SGUK’s main campaign focus ‘Health Risks at Work’, the BSIF’s “It’s in your hands” occupational skin care campaign and news on the HSE’s strategy and its latest work on occupational disease. 

SGUK AGM Vice President Marcia Davies and committee representatives provided an update on the work of the organisation over the last 12 months and the amended constitution for SGUK was accepted. Outgoing committee members were thanked for their contribution and nominations for the new committee were accepted. The changes include former Vice Chair John Cairns becoming Chairman of SGUK for 2014 to 2017. Dr Bob Rajan has become Vice Chair and Mike Nixon has been re-elected as Treasurer.
