To help employers reduce or
eliminate the risks associated
with exposure to vibration,
Casella CEL has launched the
lightweight CEL-960 Human
Vibration Meter, complete
with associated dB98
software. The unit features
remote operation mode for
easier measurements and
better quality data.

Of compact, robust design,
it is purpose developed to
measure hand-arm (HAV)
and whole-body (WBV)
vibrations, according to the
requirements of European
Directive 2002/44/EC.

Hand-arm vibration is
associated with the use of
hand-held power tools, while
whole-body vibration is
transmitted through a seat or
feet of employees who drive
mobile machines, or other
work vehicles, over rough and
uneven surfaces as a main
part of their job.

Exposure measuring for
HAV or WBV vibration is
made simple with the CEL-
960, with just one button to
operate the unit. It can also be
easily operated remotely via
Bluetooth by a laptop or
tablet PC. This means the
person conducting the
measurement does not get in
the way of the machine
operator whose exposure is
being monitored, allowing
better quality data to be
collected.

Comprising an acquisition
unit, signal processing, data
storage and data transfer, the
CEL-960 measures tri-axial
vibration levels and offers
signal and 1/3 octave
spectrum recording.
