No more slippery fish

Vynagrip matting, manufactured by
Plastic Extruders, is solving a
slippery problem for the largest fish
shop in Piraeus, the port of Athens in
Greece. Fresh off the boats each day,
large quantities of fish are delivered
together with packed ice, while over
counter machines continually spray
water to keep the fish wet. The result
was that the shop’s tiled floor used to
become very slippery with increased
risk of slip and fall accidents.

become very slippery with increased

To solve this, Vynagrip matting was
laid alongside the counters to create a
safe and slip resistant surface. The
matting is self-draining because its
open grid format and its textured
surface quickly and efficiently drain
large amounts of water. Vynagrip is
made from two layers of non-porous,
flexible PVC that are welded together
to create extra strong joints.
