Safety & Health Expo returns to the NEC,Birmingham,
from 11th to 13th May 2010. This year’s event includes
an exhibition comprising more than 300 exhibitors as
well as a number of educational features

Safety & Health Expo, which will be
hosted in partnership with the
Royal Society for the Prevention
of Accidents (RoSPA), the British Safety
Industry Federation (BSIF) and the
Institution of Occupational Safety and
Health (IOSH), attracted more than
19,000 industry professionals to the 2009
event.

Adrian Newton, portfolio director of
Safety and Building Management at UBM
Live, organiser of the event, said: “We
took the opportunity in 2009 to launch a
raft of exciting new features to
complement the established mainstays of
the event.

“These features were born out of
comprehensive industry research and
were a huge hit among our visitors. We
will therefore be expanding the
programmes in all our features to further
enhance the visitor experience and look
forward to building on last year’s
successes.” More than 300 industry
renowned companies will showcase their
latest developments, including 3M,
ARCO, BM Polyco, British Red Cross,
Connaught Compliance Training
Services, Draeger, Latchways, Moldex,
Safety Media, Scott Health & Safety,
Sperian and Totectors.

Education will once again take centre
stage, with four dedicated seminar
theatres throughout the show.

The SHP Legal Arena will host a new
and informative programme dedicated to
exploring the key aspects of health and
safety law concerning practitioners today.

Over the three days, there will be a
number of keynote presentations from
experienced health and safety barristers
and solicitors. Topics will include
corporate manslaughter, accident
investigation and fire safety.

Following its successful launch last
year, the Product and Innovation Hub,
sponsored by ARCO, returns to allow
visitors to discover new products and
innovations from across the industry.

Presentations will be delivered by health
and safety manufacturers, distributors
and suppliers.

IOSH will also be presenting updates
on recent developments in the IOSH
Stand Theatre. The sessions will provide
information and updates on CPD,
training courses and technical guidance.

Explosive Substances Live, presented by
Denios, is back with a bang in 2010 to
deliver informative, lively and thoroughly
entertaining experimental lectures. These
graphic demonstrations will highlight the
consequences that can arise when
flammable materials are incorrectly
handled.

Access Industry Forum (AIF), the
umbrella organisation representing the
principal trade bodies and associations
connected with working at height, is also
returning to Safety & Health Expo with
an exciting new programme. The new
AIF Knowledge Base will provide a
seminar style event delivering informative
and current content throughout the three
days. There will be updates on the latest
working at height issues and new
elements will also stimulate debate
between key speakers, expert panels and
