The 2011 Frost & Sullivan
North America New Product
Innovation Award in
Personal Protective
Equipment has been
presented to JSP for
FilterSpec. Launched in the
first half of 2010, the product
combines safety spectacles
and a disposable
respiratory
protective mask.
“JSP Ltd’s
FilterSpec is a
significant innovation
in the personal
protective equipment
market as it addresses one
of the most long standing
challenges faced by the
industry – that of ‘fit’,” notes
Frost & Sullivan research
analyst, Anamika Chaudhuri.
“In addition to overcoming
the problem associated with
the incompatibility between
safety eyewear and a
respiratory protective mask,
the product has solved
problems related with poor
face fit such as leakage and
fogging of the lens
interrupting the normal flow
of work.”
The FilterSpec combines
the respiratory mask
with safety glasses or
goggles in such a
manner that both the
safety devices
function efficiently,
independently and
in absolute harmony
as a unit and satisfies the
fit test mandated by HSE.
The safety spectacles
comply with EN 166.1.F
standard and the goggle
with EN166.1.B.3.4 and
the respiratory mask
complies with the EN1827
FMP2 standard.
