To improve comfort and safety
underfoot, Vynagrip slip resistant
matting, manufactured in the UK by
Plastic Extruders, has been
extensively installed
airside in the
baggage handling
area of George
Best Belfast
City
Airport.

The
airport has
grown significantly
over the last few years and currently
caters for over 2.5 million passengers
a year. This has led to an increased
workload in the baggage handling
areas where the handlers spend
prolonged periods of time working
on concrete. This is frequently wet
from rain due to the constant
passage of the baggage trollies
between the carousels and aircraft.

Scientific tests prove that
Vynagrip matting reduces the stress
and fatigue for workers standing on
hard surfaces and its deeply etched
surface achieves a high rating for slip
resistant performance. The matting
contours over uneven surfaces while
its 15mm open grid height means it
straddles pools of water and
efficiently dissipates any surface
liquid thereby keeping workers safe,
comfortable and dry.
