It marked a series of “firsts”, high up there was the inclusion of the IOSH Conference ensuring that Expo increased its reach of key influencers.
The Safety and Health Expo saw a total of 345 exhibitors which was approximately 40% higher than the number exhibiting last year. I believe this reflects very well on the strength of the market place. Further evidence of this can be seen in the fact that 105 of these were exhibiting for the first time. It was great to see so many BSIF members showing, illustrating their strong commitment to the market.
At this time full analytics are not yet available but a great many exhibitors expressed to me that they had reached high quality, senior decision makers and made many new contacts. I was extremely impressed by the quality of the stands presented this year by exhibitors, it was an exceptional performance and while it would not be fair to single out individual stands I would like to add my congratulations to A- SAFE who won the UBM Best Stand Award.
The Safety and Health Expo was the focal point for the launch of the first UK Health and Safety Week. This was hosted by Lawrence Waterman OBE of Park Health and Safety Partnership at the SHE Live Stage as part of the drive to recognise the UK’s position as a world health and safety leader. The week will become a permanent feature and create a crucial focal point as we continue the occupational safety mission through to vital improvements necessary in dealing with long latency disease.
As well as the presentation of our Safety Awards and The Breakfast Briefings, Expo allowed BSIF the platform to meet and host discussions with our members and key partners such as the Safety Groups UK. It also provided speaking opportunities of which one of the highlights had to be the update of the “In Your Hands” campaign held in the BOHS Arena.
The Safety and Health Expo was a great success and we look forward to seeing you at Expo between 16-18th June 2015.
