Fixed point gas detection solutions

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Gas detection often requires an installed fixed system to ensure personnel are constantly protected against specific toxic, flammable and asphyxiate gas levels. Shawcity offers a wide range of solutions.

The company can provide wireless or hard-wired fixed-point detection systems from a selection of leading partner manufacturers. It can design, install, commission and service flexible systems to suit every environment in flameproof, intrinsically safe or safe area formats.

Gas detection heads are installed in hazardous areas and transmit to control panels which can house up to 64 Gas Detection Head inputs and be networked to a central point so that multiple control panels or systems can be monitored remotely.

Locally, the control panel has relays and signal output to Building Management Systems or Programme Logic Controllers, as well as actuate equipment (e.g. shut-off valves) and alarms.

A wide range of target gas options are available including toxic, flammable, oxygen and volatile organic compounds (VOCs). Options include: NH3, Cl, O3, H2S, HCN, SO2, PH3, NO, NO2, CO, VOCs, CO2, EO, ClO2, CH4, C5H12, C3H8, H2, C2H5OH, CH3OH, C4H10 as well as flammable gases.

Shawcity has systems that can also monitor volume concentrations of hydrocarbons, hydrogen, ammonia, jet fuel, leaded petrol and vapours containing halogens. Further options and bespoke systems are available. Contact Shawcity for more information or to discuss your requirements: www.shawcity.co.uk
