Environmentally-friendly plant

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Ion Science, UK manufacturer of gas detection instrumentation for occupational health and environmental monitoring, is set to commence work on the site of its new 1500 square metre, environmentally-friendly plant in Fowlmere, Cambridgeshire.

The facility will provide more light assembly, research and office space. Built to the latest environmental standards, the £3.5 million investment will increase manufacturing capacity in line with the company’s global growth strategy.

Construction workers will move in to the land located off Butts Lane in spring 2015. Plant and machinery will also begin to arrive on site ready for clearance, ground stabilisation and excavation work.

Duncan Johns, managing director at Ion Science, said: “The state-of-the-art facility reflects our ambition as a business as we continue to innovate and provide our global customers with cost effective and cutting-edge gas detection instrumentation.”
