Ensure systems testing

Research by the HSE reveals that falls
from height continue to be one of
the biggest causes of deaths amongst
construction workers, accounting for
34 out of 72 deaths. In addition, over
half of the 4000 major injuries
reported to the HSE each year
involve easily preventable falls or
from trips.

Eurosafe Solutions, a specialist
fall protection company, is calling on
building owners and facilities
managers to ensure that fall
protection systems are regularly
tested and workers are being trained,
so they can minimise the risks from
work at heights.

The company also advises building
owners and property managers to that
check the fall protection company
they work with carries out adequate
tests on each anchor device. British
and European standards state that the
sample anchor device needs to be
tested with forces applied in line with
expected service.
