The Fire Protection Association
(FPA) has revised and
updated its long-running
and popular DVD ‘Action
in the Event of Fire’ which
drums home the basic fire
safety and evacuation
message, within the
induction or refresher
training process.

The video describes the
proper sequence of actions
to take should a fire break
out in the workplace: raise the alarm,
call the fire and rescue services,
evacuate the building, and fight the
fire, if you are trained and it is safe to
do so. It also highlights the positive
difference that fire safety
training can make to staff
reactions when
confronted with the
outbreak of fire. The
main requirements of
current fire legislation are
identified as well as
typical hazards in the
workplace and
preventative measures.
