The Chartered Institute of
Environmental Health (CIEH) has
announced that InterContinental
Hotels Group (IHG) is the first
organisation to achieve Corporate
Membership, which recognises the
hotel group for its strong
commitment to high standards of
environmental health.

IHG is the largest hotel company
by number of rooms, with seven
internationally recognised brands,
and has an informed and forward
looking approach to the fundamentals
of environmental health such
as: food safety and hygiene, health
and safety, environmental protection,
and sustainable development.

“Organisations seeking corporate
membership undergo a very robust
and rigorous selection process. The
CIEH is looking to award corporate
membership to organisations that
not only meet internationally
recognised standards of
environmental health best practice –
but exceed them,” said Graham
Jukes, CIEH chief executive.
