Burn & bump protection

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Following on from the success of its First Base 3 range of bump caps, Scott Safety has launched the new flame retardant First Base 3 FR Bump Cap.

The bump cap protect workers in a variety of head bump-risk occupations and also protects those in environments where hot sparks are generated, such as automated welding or grinding or where workers are exposed to flammable liquids that could burn the head or potentially ignite hair.

Scott Safety’s Chris Ellerby said: “Our customers suggested the addition of a flame symbol on the sides of the cap to help remove the uncertainty a safety officer faces when looking to see if a worker is wearing the correct protection. This feedback was incorporated into the final product design so now it is clearly visible when a flame retardant cap is being worn.”

The outer cap is completely flame retardant and the entire cap is CE certified to EN812:A1, including the optional ‘resistance to flame’ clause (5 second extinguish).
