Blackline Safety showcases connected safety tech at HSM Live Coventry
WORKPLACE SAFETY challenges are evolving. From hazardous atmospheres and confined spaces to lone working and complex contractor environments, organisations across every sector face growing pressure to protect their people — not just reactively, but in real time.

At HSM LIVE Coventry on 1 July, Blackline Safety will be showcasing its latest connected safety technology, including the G8 personal safety wearable and the EXO 8 connected area monitor — both of which have been shortlisted for SHE Awards 2026, with EXO 8 nominated for Risk Management Product of the Year and the G8 campaign ‘The Most Connected Wearable Ever Made’ nominated for Best Marketing Campaign of the Year.
Launched in January 2026, the G8 represents a new generation of connected safety wearable. By combining multi-gas detection, lone worker protection and integrated communication into a single device, G8 gives organisations real-time visibility into both environmental conditions and workforce safety — wherever their people are working.
At the core of G8 is its flexible gas detection capability. Supporting over 20 interchangeable sensors, the device monitors for a wide range of gases including hydrogen sulphide, oxygen deficiency and combustible gases. Alerts are triggered automatically when thresholds are exceeded and transmitted instantly through the cloud, ensuring both workers and remote safety teams are informed without delay.
Beyond gas detection, G8 is built to protect workers wherever they operate. Built-in fall detection, no-motion alerts and an SOS latch ensure incidents are identified immediately — even if the worker is unable to call for help. Integrated dual-band GPS/GNSS provides real-time location awareness, while push-to-talk voice and text messaging keep teams connected without relying on separate devices or local infrastructure.
Visit the Blackline Safety stand at HSM LIVE Coventry to see G8 and EXO 8 in action and discover how connected safety technology is helping organisations move from reactive monitoring to proactive, data-driven risk management.
