The self-reported worker’s
survey for 2010/111
estimated that 22,000
people were suffering from
hearing problems believed
to be related to the
workplace.

In response to the
findings, Cirrus Research
wanted to dispel any
ongoing myths that noise
measurement is difficult to
implement and understand.

“Workplace related
hearing loss is becoming an
increasingly common
hazard within most
workplaces,” says James
Tingay, group marketing
manager at Cirrus
Research.

“Our customers and
distributors can learn more
about noise measurement
and the different types of
equipment available
through regular updates on
our blog, NoiseNews.

“The blog explains the
different types of
equipment, frequency
weightings, class, type and
maintenance as well as
providing a platform to
actively participate in
online ‘Questions and
Answers’ and the
opportunity to ask the
professionals about noise
measurement equipment.

“Due to the post’s
popularity we have collated
our top 10 and published
them in an eBook which is
available to download from
our website.

“The majority of our
customers and distributors
use the eBook and the blog
posts as self help guides.

The two posts which
have been the most visited
are: What you need to
measure for the Noise at
Work Regulations and
What to look for when
choosing noise
measurement equipment
for noise at work.
