Industry support
The Women in Safety & Health Awards will open for entries in April 2026 but are already gaining widespread industry support with the Health & Safety Event, Safety Rocks and the Healthy Work Company all agreeing to sponsor the Awards.
The Women in Health and Safety networking group has also agreed to partner with the Awards. This networking group was founded in 2014 and has 4500+ members and promotes gender equality within the OSH sector. It will now partner to promote the Awards and also the in-person meet ups that Health & Safety Matters will host throughout the year to shine a spotlight on women in the sector.
Speaking on the news, Women in Health and Safety founder Heather Beach commented: “I am delighted to support this initiative which should provide a platform to celebrate women in the sector. The Women in Health and Safety group has been running networking and education events for women for over 10 years now, has more than 4500 members and has run almost 100 events. Combining our efforts and collaborating with HSM is good for the sector.”
HSM editor Kelly Rose adds: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Heather and the Women in Health and Safety group. The point of our recently launched Awards is to shine a spotlight on women in the sector and this is the perfect partner to work with.
“It all begins with our Women in Health & Safety panel session at HSM Live in Leeds, which Heather has kindly agreed to chair. This is a session not to be missed and will be a launchpad for the Awards. You will also see we are now running a feature interview in each issue of HSM with key women in the sector, starting in February.
“We are also keen to encourage anyone to join the steering committee of the Women in Safety & Health Awards. This is open to all and will help us shape the direction of the Awards, HSM’s editorial coverage and in person-meet ups. So, please do get in touch if you would like to join.”
