British Safety Council launches three new first aid qualifications

These are:

Level 2 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work This qualification is designed for individuals wishing to act as an emergency first aider in their workplace and is typically delivered over a one day session.

Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work Developed for individuals wishing to act as a first aider in their workplace, this qualification is usually delivered over three days.

Level 3 Award in Paediatric First Aid Students of this course will gain the essential skills and knowledge required for providing first aid to children and infants. This qualification is typically delivered over three days.

Commenting on the launch of the new qualifications, Mike Robinson, chief executive of the British Safety Council, said: “Recognising the importance of first aid skills in every workplace, that can mean the difference between life and death, and the training centres’ needs to be able to offer a full suite of essential health and safety courses, the British Safety Council has developed this new set of qualifications. We hope that it will contribute to making workplaces healthier and safer.

“Knowing how to administer basic first aid is a vital skill in a survival situation where professional medical help may not be available. The specific first aid requirements may vary depending on the workplace and educational establishments, which is reflected by the training modules developed using our extensive experience. We hope that they will give first aiders the skills to act in emergency situations and trainers the confidence to source educational material from the most trusted source.”
