Some years ago the BSIF Skin Protection Product Group turned into a working group to launch the ‘It’s in your Hands’ campaign. The first incarnation of this campaign came from an approach to the BSIF from the Health & Safety Executive (HSE), who were concerned over the increasing incidence of work related dermatitis.
The summer has seen several published articles and comments on the 40th anniversary of the Health and Safety at Work Act, much as one would expect in the safety trade press. However I think the two most significant pieces on this subject appeared in the Daily Mail and The Sun published on 26th July and 1st August respectively.
In July the BSIF held two regional meetings, one in the north and one in the south of the UK, to allow all members the opportunity to meet with representatives from The Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS) and discuss any concerns or issues they may have with the proposed text of the PPE Regulation.
On Thursday 25th September, the British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) will host its Networking Event and Gala Dinner and announce the winners of two awards.
The Belfry played host to the BSIF’s 17th Annual Networking Day Event on 25th September with a large turn out of BSIF delegates and guests.
You would be forgiven in thinking that Gleneagles stole the limelight at the end of September with the hosting of the 40th Ryder Cup but it was all go at The Belfry on the 25th with the BSIF hosting its 17th Annual Networking Day Event.
A total of 28 golfers took to the pristine PGA course at 1.30pm eager to impress and be crowned the winner of the BSIF Golf Tournament.
Two awards, for Outstanding Contribution and Commitment to Federation Activities, were presented at a gala meal hosted by the BSIF.
It seems incredible that 2014 is now drawing to a close. This has been my first year in the job at the Federation and it has been very constructive but it has also gone incredibly quickly.
