A few BSIF members who are personal protective equipment (PPE) manufacturers, are jetting off to Johannesburg to take part in the inaugural Occupational Safety & Health Expo Africa (OSH Expo Africa) trade exhibition which is aimed at the occupational health & safety community within South Africa and the wider African region.
In July, the second airing of BBC One’s Fake Britain programme focusing on the devastating impact counterfeit and illegal PPE can have on the workforce, was aired at prime time viewing. The BSIF contributed to this programme with one of its members Centurion Safety Products.
It is a sad fact that thousands of workers develop lung problems and cancer each year as a result of breathing in harmful quantities of dust, fumes or other airborne contaminants at work.
