Following on from the extensive research of reverse and e-auctions within the NHS, The British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) fully supports the British Healthcare Industries Association’s (BHIA) view, that reverse auctions and eauctions can adversely affect safety in the same way as these procurement activities also affect the health of patients in hospitals.
The safety industry is enduring an ongoing period of change, consolidation and uncertain economic development. Elements from the Loftstedt/Young Reports are being implemented, while the Prime Minister is adversely commenting on elements of the safety provision.
To adapt to the imminent changes within the health and safety industry, The British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) will be actively expanding its staff to continue to provide its members with the highest level of service.
The BSIF is looking forward to announcing the winners of the BSIF Safety Awards 2012 at a high profile reception at Safety & Health Expo on Tuesday 15th May 2012 at the NEC in Birmingham. As in previous years, there are three award categories: The BSIF Service Awards, The BSIF Safety Excellence Awards and The Product Innovation Awards. The Awards will be separately judged by a panel of eminent safety industry professionals.
The BSIF has been working with Safety Groups UK and The Health and Safety Executive (HSE), along with other key industry stakeholders to develop a new online RPE Selector Tool that ultimately will help determine what kind of equipment you or your employees will need for protection against specific hazardous substances.
