The BSIF – HSE It’s in your hands campaign was hailed a success at a review meeting by campaign stakeholders.
Recent meetings with the National Chemical Emergency Centre (NCEC) and the Environment Agency (EA) have helped to bring delivery to the objectives for better handling of liquid spills long promoted by the BSIF Sorbent Manufacturers Group.
This year, for the first time, the overall winners of the BSIF Safety Awards are to be presented at the RoSPA awards dinner, in front of almost 1,000 people, on the first evening of the Safety & Health Expo, 11th May.
The BSIF launched its Registered Safety Supplier scheme on the 1st January this year with over one third of all UK manufacturers of PPE and safety distributor outlets joining in advance of the launch.
As we look forward to a General Election it is to be hoped that the need to repay the fiscal deficit does not mean less attention to occupational health and safety.

The BSIF Registered Safety Supplier scheme, launched in January to support its mission to eliminate counterfeit and illegal products, has met with a significant take-up by manufacturers and distributors of PPE and safety equipment and more are joining on a weekly basis.
Since its launch in January, the Fit2Fit Accreditation scheme, for fit-testers of respiratory protective PPE, has been inundated with enquiries which validates the need for such a scheme.
