The BT Lifter hand pallet truck range
from Toyota Material Handling is
evolving to meet changing operational
needs and responding to trends,
particularly within the retail sector.
Four J D Neuhaus EH 60 air
operated monorail hoists supplied for
offshore BOP handling have
completed 12 months satisfactory
operation to customer requirements
and have also passed their first
annual inspection. These hoists were
supplied and initially mounted in
Norway by Westcon Løfteteknikk AS
(WCL) at the Westcon yard, and were
designated for eventual location on
the Seadrill West Epsilon rig, which is
classified as DnV, + 1A1 selfelevating
mobile offshore unit.
Ferguson Modular has taken delivery
of a Combilift Straddle Carrier, the
first to be implemented in North East
Scotland, to improve safety and
efficiency when loading and
unloading the company’s
accommodation modules. Until the
SC was in place the handling of
modules was a complex logistical
exercise which entailed the hiring of
cranes, the completion of lifting plans
and the deployment of four
banksmen to ensure safe operations.
Kalmar says that its new TR626i and
TR632i fully CAN-Bus controlled
heavy terminal tractors are the most
powerful models available. Targeting
heavy-duty industrial and terminal
applications, the new models meet
the market’s need for a higherpowered
tractor that can handle
increasingly heavy loads.
Lifting Technology will display a
number of its most innovative lifting
devices at the show, including
Translyft’s popular lifting tables and
scissor lifts, and Hovmand’s highquality,
high-performance lifters.

January 29 to
February 1 in
Moscow.
The vehicle mounted cranes and
platform lifts by Penny Hydraulics
allow employees to handle all sorts of
loads efficiently and economically
without any need for manual lifting or
carrying. As well as reducing the risk
of industrial injuries, fatigue and
enabling compliance with regulations,
these devices allow a single person to
work on their own. Penny Hydraulics
says that this improves productivity,
efficiency and resource flexibility.
Linde Material Handling has
introduced a hand pallet truck with a
brake. The Pro Brake model is
capable of lifting loads up to 2,500kg,
providing a safer, more productive
alternative in manual handling. The
effort involved in moving Pro Brake
from stationary is said to be one
sixth of that compared to a similar
machine without a brake.
At the start of 2012 Toyota Material
Handling launched a dedicated
safety campaign called ‘Taking Care
with Toyota’ to support companies to
reduce injury and accidents in the
workplace. Toyota has now
announced that the campaign will
continue in 2013. The objective has
been expanded to provide additional
support to companies relating not
only to workplace safety, but also
providing advice on best practice and
driving down costs in materials
handling.
