Asbestos is still a growing concern for the UK, with many people googling their apprehensions daily.
Asbestos is a deadly material that was used widely in construction, but it’s use was restricted and ultimately banned in the UK outright in 1999. But it still remains in many older constructions and buildings, and the fine fibrous minerals can be the cause of such diseases as asbestosis, lung cancers, and non-malignant pleural disease to those that come into direct contact.
Slips, trips and falls are one of the most common causes of workplace injuries making up 37% of all accidents and resulting in approximately 50 deaths a year.
Statistics from the Health and Safety Executive show that 1.3 million people suffer from a work related illness, with 31.2 million working days lost due to injuries and ill health from working conditions.
