Focus on safety is paramount as economy recovers
Some encouraging news about the economy today, with reports that it grew by by 0.6% in the three months to June http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-23446056 and the Chancellor suggesting we are moving “from rescue to recovery.” But this news should serve as a reminder that with economic recovery comes a rise in accidents.

Why did you have to go and make things so complicated?
As the government’s red tape reforms gather momentum: changes to the Reporting of Injuries, Diseases and Dangerous Occurrences Regulations (RIDDOR) and the HSE’s Approved Codes of Practice (ACOP) are underway, and over 3,000 regulations are due to be scrapped or overhauled by December 2013, the picture for businesses is mixed….
