HSE recognised by Rail Safety Body
08 July 2020
THE RAIL Safety and Standards Board (RSSB) has certified the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) as an affiliate member.
The affiliation, awarded recently at a collaborative workshop between the two organisations, heralds a new era for sharing best practices and collaboration in all areas of health and safety.
Topics where HSE can offer significant expertise and experience include: the decarbonisation landscape, future standards as well as worker health.
Receiving the accolade on behalf of HSE, Strategic Account Manager Lorraine Gavin commented:
'We are really excited to work alongside RSSB and their members to support their mission for a better, safer railway'.
RSSB is one of a number of exciting speakers at HSE's forthcoming Future of Gas event - and will provide an insight into the current work they are doing to evaluate hydrogen as a possible cleaner and greener fuel for rail.
The two-day event, which is also being live streamed, will also provide updates on all the established, major hydrogen projects such as H21, H100 and HyDeploy, as well providing insights into the safe production and use of hydrogen to give a whole system perspective of what will be required to help the UK make an informed decision in time to achieve net zero by 2050.
