Aptus secures ISO recertification
10 February 2025
MULTI-UTILITY provider Aptus Utilities is proud to announce that it has successfully passed its recent ISO recertification audit with zero non-conformances.

This achievement underscores the company’s unwavering commitment to maintaining the highest standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental management across its UK operations.
The company’s services include the design, build and installation of electricity, water, gas, street lighting and electric vehicle charge point network infrastructure.
Overview of the audit
The comprehensive eight-day audit was conducted by Alcumus ISOQAR, a UKAS-accredited certification body. Spanning Aptus’ depots, sites, and offices, the audit scrutinised every aspect of the company’s operations. The aim was to ensure full compliance with the stringent requirements of three critical ISO standards:
- ISO9001:2015 – Quality Management Systems
- ISO14001:2015 – Environmental Management Systems
- ISO45001:2018 – Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems
The results were exemplary, confirming Aptus' adherence to these globally recognised benchmarks without a single non-conformance.
Why ISO certification matters
ISO standards are internationally recognised benchmarks for operational excellence. The rigorous recertification audits, conducted every three years, ensure that certified organisations maintain robust management systems and continuously improve their processes.
For Aptus, ISO certification brings several benefits:
- Global Standards: Aligning with ISO standards ensures that Aptus maintains processes and practices that meet globally recognised standards.
- Risk Management: The standards require organisations to proactively identify and mitigate potential risks. For Aptus, this means implementing robust procedures to protect its operations and reputation.
- Trust and Credibility: ISO certification significantly boosts Aptus' trust and credibility among its customers, suppliers, and stakeholders, fostering long-term relationships and business growth.
- Operational Excellence: By continuously refining its processes, Aptus can deliver services more effectively and efficiently, enhancing customer satisfaction and operational performance.
- Sustainability: The company’s adherence to ISO standards supports its ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) goals. By prioritising environmental management and social responsibility, Aptus ensures that its operations are sustainable, ethical, and aligned with broader societal goals.
Key audit findings
The auditors commended Aptus for its robust and integrated management system, highlighting:
- “A successful, controlled, integrated management system that supports the overall development of the business and provides a framework for continuous improvement.”
- “No non-conformances were raised.”
They also noted that Aptus’ management system is effectively aligned with its policy and objectives, demonstrating compliance across all aspects of its operations.
A testament to team excellence
Lisa Kerford, managing director of Aptus, commented: “This audit thoroughly evaluates our management systems, ensuring they align with the high standards we’ve committed to and confirming that our processes are being implemented effectively.
“It also assessed how we meet our quality objectives, with a strong emphasis on safeguarding our colleagues’ health and wellbeing while consistently fulfilling our promises to customers.
“This fantastic result is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the entire Aptus team. Their commitment to excellence enables us to maintain the highest standards across all areas of our business.”
The company’s adherence to ISO standards ensures that it remains at the forefront of industry best practices, setting a benchmark for excellence in the utility sector.
