Poor air quality can lead to impaired
performance at work, sickness or even
death. “Many people simply don’t
think about air quality as an essential
contributor to health and wellbeing in
the workplace,”says Ian Wall, sales
director of duct cleaning specialists
Ductbusters.

The International Centre for
Indoor Environment and Energy,
Technical University of Denmark
reported: ‘It has now been shown
beyond reasonable doubt that poor
indoor air quality in buildings can
decrease productivity.’
To asses the air quality in the
workplace: Check ceiling/wall air
grilles are clean, check ceiling or tiles
around the grilles are clean; is the
temperature constant? Are there high
levels of dust? Has the ventilation
system been cleaned in the last five
years? If in doubt, professional duct
cleaning services will provide free
assessments to establish the condition
of ventilation ducts.
