Thorough Examination team

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Toyota Material Handling UK has introduced a team dedicated to carrying out Thorough Examinations on materials handling equipment at customer sites across the UK.

A Thorough Examination is a legal requirement when owning or operating lifting equipment with forks. Companies are required to ensure the equipment meets safety requirements set out by the Consolidated Fork Truck Services (CFTS). It is a mandatory check to make sure that the mechanical parts of your material handling equipment are in safe working order.

The Thorough Examination team at Toyota are accredited by the CFTS and conduct examinations that meet and exceed the legal requirements of LOLER (Lifting Operations and Lifting Equipment Regulations) and PUWER (Provision and Use of Work Regulations Equipment) examinations. A LOLER examination covers the lifting parts of the truck, whilst a PUWER examination will examine other safety related parts such as steering, brakes and tyres.

The team will be led by John Magill, a senior Thorough Examination technician at Toyota who has worked with the company for over 25 years.

The Thorough Examination team are trained on all makes and models of lifting equipment and manage the whole process starting with helping you set up a schedule to carrying out the examination and follow up.
