Thermal and mechanical protection

Bennett Safetywear’s new Polysafe-HT range of high performance gloves is designed to offer enhanced levels of thermal and mechanical protection without compromising on dexterity, flexibility and comfort.

Manufactured in the UK from a low-lint black para-aramid yarn, the Polysafe-HT range is said to provide EN 407 Level 3 contact heat (up to 22 seconds @ 350°C, well in excess of the threshold time) and Level 4 convective heat protection, whilst affording the maximum levels achievable for both cut- and tear-resistance (levels 5 and 4 respectively) according to EN388.
In addition to the standard model with functional thermal lining, the range includes a version with a waterproof breathable membrane for use with liquids, including protection against steam burns, and a version with a waterproof and chemical nitrile resistant lining. A variety of lengths are available, including 25, 35 and 45cm.
The same yarn is used in the company’s range of Polysafe sleeves for industrial applications and its Armour-Knit intervention clothing for the police service.
