Barefoot protection

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Heronrib matting has been chosen to provide safe and hygienic access to the plunge pool, the sauna, steam and shower areas of the Spa Aquatonic, the new international spa for health and beauty treatments at the award-winning Crowne Plaza in Kuwait.

Distributor K4 General Trading and Contracting Company suggested Heronrib matting,
manufactured in the UK by Plastic Extruders.

K4 sales manager Sandeep John said: “The ease of cleaning and slip resistant
properties of the Heronrib matting were the primary reasons this mat was chosen, coupled with its
hygienic and drainage attributes, which are particularly important in wet/humid environments such as
spas.”

Manufactured from PVC and tested to DIN 51097 (Classification C – highest rating), Heronrib
features an open grid surface with channelled underbars to allow for effective drainage. An
embossed surface that makes it slip resistant in wet conditions together with anti-fungal and anti-
microbial additives also ensure barefoot protection.
