Automatic tool goes mobile

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

Tooling solutions specialist Snap-on Industrial UK has introduced a new portable Battery Powered version of its highly successful Automatic Tool Control (ATC) system.

In aerospace, controlling Foreign Object Debris (FOD) and related audit compliance is of critical importance to ensure tools are not lost or left behind after use. The Battery Powered ATC delivers an inclusive system with availability of tools at point of use, advanced tool control and integral inventory and audit management system.

Tool organisation within the system is provided by engineered foam inserts allowing visual accountability. Highly sensitive integrated digital imaging provides inventory and tool control, and advanced software for permanent digital recording of an individual transaction creates a complete audit trail.

The Battery Powered ATC utilises Snap-on’s analytical software to create real-time records of all tool usage. A full customised reporting suite and email alerts are available to tool-box administrators and management, allowing them to have real time visibility of inventory and usage.
