Prevents false alarms
Wind power generators, systems with maximum value concentration, are very hard for the fire brigade to access – particularly on offshore plants.
As the first fully automatic fire detection and extinguishing system for this technology, the Siemens Sinorix AFFS has been approved by VdS, Europe’s number one institute for safety and security.
“We’re pleased at this clear proof of our development’s effectiveness,” Siemens’ Christian Lais said. “Particularly since approval by VdS also proves the certified long-term reliability of Sinorix in the most diverse environmental conditions.”
He added: “Combining Sinorix with our fire detectors prevents false alarms, which is hugely important when it comes to hard-to-access offshore wind power plants.”
