HAVmeter survives coldest winter since 1914

As construction of the M74
Completion is now well underway
and the snow is finally melting, an
unexpected item has emerged from
the depths of an excavation. After
enduring over two months of
complete submersion in 2ft of
frozen mud and icy water, a lone
HAVmeter has been rescued.

Davie Teasdale – site foreman at
Interlink M74 Project – says he
simply recharged the meter on the
Basestation and found that despite
being completely submerged for
months, it was still fully
functioning.

“I
couldn’t
believe the
HAVmeter
could
survive
those
conditions.

When we
saw it slip
into a flooded cavity, we thought
we’d never see it again. Then when
we found it two months later, we
took it out, wiped it down, and
carried on using it!”
