Spill absorbent granules that work by
absorption into the structure of the
granule (rather than adsorbing onto
the surface of the spill) are coming to
the fore in the fields of chemical and
paint absorption.

Products such as InstaZorb, which
is imported into the UK by Process
Measurement and Analysis (PMA),
are based on
thermally
expanded
volcanic
minerals with
proprietary
surfactant
treatments.

These are
said to have a
greater surface area and to
be more flexible in application, being
able to absorb any liquid or semi
liquid – from bodily fluids to paint.

One product can service a variety of
spill incidents and reduce cleaning
chemical and water usage in the
process.
