New procedural guidelines at VdS

In 2011, a survey of security leaders
in Europe – the WIK/ASW survey –
showed that one of the most
important investment criterion for
security products, installers and
manufacturers is VdS endorsement.

VdS has now re-issued its
guidelines 2344 ‘Procedures for the
testing, approval, certification and
conformity assessment of products
and systems for fire protection and
security technologies’. The main
amendments include expanding the
procedures to incorporate
EN/ISO/IEC certification and a
special VdS Home endorsement for
products primarily used for private
purposes.
