The fight against fake and illegal PPE continues

Unfortunately fake and illegal Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is continuing to be an unwelcome visitor in the workplace. However, the BSIF is maintaining its fight against this illegal practice and is continuing to educate end users about the need to purchase from a reputable source as well as encouraging manufacturers and distributors to join its Registered Safety Supplier Scheme.

Most recently, EHM Limited, Respirex International and Jonesco [Preston] Limited, joined the fight against this unscrupulous behaviour by becoming members of this scheme. As after all, in order to avoid purchasing and using fake and illegal PPE it is vital for end users to talk to companies they know they can trust to provide them with quality advice.

By developing relationships with PPE providers who are both professional and reliable, end users will be able to purchase the right equipment, for the right people. The scheme acts as a signpost for people to ensure that they can buy from a reputable company whom they can trust to supply genuine and legal products and will also provide good advice.

The Federation will be on hand throughout Safety & Health Expo to provide further information about its Registered Safety Supplier Scheme and welcomes individuals to come and visit its stand (P8, Hall 2) to find out further information on how they can help clamp down on this serious problem.
