Hygienic matting

A ‘pop up’ temporary swimming pool
initiative designed to encourage
Londoners to learn to swim has been
installed with Heronrib safety matting.

Heronrib, manufactured by Plastic
Extruders, was laid on the pool
surround to provide high slip
resistance underfoot while also
providing a comfortable and
hygienic surface on which to stand.

Heronrib has a vinyl open grid
construction with raised profile
underbars which help water to drain
away easily in all directions. This
means that the embossed surface
remains relatively dry and highly slip
resistant. The matting is very
hardwearing yet comfortable to stand
on while the anti-bacterial and antifungal
additives ensure it is hygienic.
