Evac+Chair launches guide to emergency evacuation

Posted on Friday 1 January 2010

In support of Business Safety Week back in September, Evac+Chair International launched its own guide to emergency evacuations to help businesses across the UK produce and monitor their own Fire Emergency Evacuation Plans (FEEP).

Available to download from the Evac+Chair website, the guide emphasises why businesses must provide an emergency plan for dealing with a situation involving fire. It details the main procedures under the Fire Safety Order that workplaces must adhere to including a fire risk assessment which will identify any possible dangers and consider those who may be especially at risk.

Gerard Wallace, managing director at Evac+Chair International, says: “A fire emergency evacuation plan (FEEP) is a required emergency procedure for any business. It’s essential for all businesses to have a building evacuation plan and evaluate the level of risk present to be sure that, when an emergency does arise, everyone is as safeguarded as possible.

“During Business Safety Week, Evac+Chair is offering free evacuation advice from certified Evac+Chair trainers.”

The guide is available to download from the Evac+Chair International website: http://evacchair.co.uk/News.aspx?a=181
