Challenging the asbestos legacy April 1st 2008 Past exposures to asbestos
fibre still kills 3,000 people a
year in the UK, and roofers,
fitters and maintenance staff
of all kinds remain at risk
when they work on
structures built before its use
was banned in the 1990's.
Knowledge is their main
defence, and Safety Media
has launched a new title
into its range of health and
safety DVD's that has the
potential to save lives.
'Asbestos – The Facts'
covers the most pressing
questions that workers need
answered in just 15 minutes:
What precautions should they
take? Where can the material
be found and in what
forms? What information
should be forthcoming from
those in charge?
The DVD comes with 10
copies of the Safety Media
Asbestos Training Booklet
and 50 copies of an asbestos
assessment and inspection
record form for use on site.
The booklets incorporate a
small test at the back, which
measures trainees' level of
comprehension and retention
of the material, and acts as a
record of the training. More articles from Safety Media Limited: |
