On store protection
February 1st 2006

Ikea has specified a modular, freestanding roof edge protection system from Kee Klamp SAS to protect employees and contractors working at roof level at one of its five Paris stores.

Once assembled, the KeeGuard system offers year-round, freestanding roof edge protection. It is fitted on the showroom roof, with a further section fitted above the stock and tills area of the main store building. In the event of any inadvertent slips or trips, workers can be sure that the system will provide a permanent safety barrier.

Quick and easy to erect, all assemblies are designed for use with 42.4 and 48.3 o/d tubing and standard fittings from the Kee Klamp range. There is no need for welding, drilling, threading or bolting; the only tools needed for installation are a wrench with a standard hex key to lock the integral set screw of each fitting onto the assembly components.

The system can also be designed for use on runs of less than 6m where no wall fixing is available.
