If you are looking to source or make contact with the major suppliers of health and safety products and services in the UK, all under one roof, then there really is only one opportunity, the Safety & Health Expo which returns to the N.E.C, Birmingham from 17-19 May this year.

RoSPA Congress

This year’s RoSPA Congress, that runs alongside Safety and Health Expo, will focus on the increasingly high standards of health and safety now demanded of UK businesses. The congress will examine what is being done at a strategic level to promote health and safety as a key performance objective within the business.

The Congress will also focus on the key challenge of putting health at the heart of health and safety management, reviewing ‘what works’; whether it is a question of managing stress and staff ill-health absence, or the challenge of reducing manual handling injuries, tackling occupational asthma or dermatitis or developing approaches to workplace health promotion that actually help to deliver healthier working lives. Further details of the RoSPA congress are available at: www.rospa.com/shwcongress.

After a successful event last year, the Access Industry Federation returns to Safety & Health Expo. As well as running a conference programme alongside the exhibition they will launch a brand new feature area - Access Live. With backing from all the key industry organisations including National Scaffolding and Access Confederation (NASC), International Powered Access Federation (IPAF), Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association (PASMA), the new live demonstration area will focus on the latest developments in working at height.

Seminars

The event also covers key areas for the construction and manufacturing sections. A free seminar theatre dedicated solely to asbestos-related issues, backed by the major asbestos bodies, repeats last year’s successful format. Experts from across the industry line up in a programme of seminar sessions covering the entire process from detection to removal of asbestos.

The Norwich Union Risk Services Information Theatre returns after a successful run at last year’s event.

Leading experts present a programme of free seminar sessions covering a broad spectrum of health and safety issues such as insurance, web based training and legislation.

Full details of the seminar timetables will appear on the event website at www.safety-health-expo.co.uk as they are confirmed.

The Runway, sponsored by DuPont Personal Protection, provides visitors with an informative and entertaining source of up to date product information in a series of live scenes. Aiming to inform and entertain visitors, the runway presents the latest health and safety products in context with their application.

The award ceremony for The Safety & Health Expo Product Innovation Award, sponsored by the BSIF, will take place at the event. Underlining the high standards of excellence within occupational safety and health, the awards scheme encourages companies to develop innovative products that will improve occupational health and safety and reduce workplace injuries.

Further information, including free visitor preregistration, is available at www.safety-healthexpo.co.uk.
