QUICK ACTIVATING CABLE LIFELINE
April 1st 2005

With falls from height still one of the major causes of work-related injury, Miller, part of Bacou-Dalloz, has launched the Black Rhino self-retracting cable lifeline.

Fitted with a quickactivating braking system that arrests a fall within centimetres, it also reduces fall impact forces, making it suitable for low level work.

For environments such as construction, welding and warehousing, the company says the new lifeline is more durable than webbing versions. Its integral shock absorber reduces fall forces to 4kN, significantly limiting risk of injury to the body from the shock of a fall.

Compact and easy to wear, Black Rhino is said to provide the worker with greater mobility than a standard shock absorbing lanyard. It is also said to be the lightest 2.7m cable lifeline available.
